Our Mission
The Women's Advocacy Foundation Australia exists to empower Australian women through education, advocacy, and comprehensive support services. We are dedicated to creating communities where healthy relationships flourish and domestic violence is prevented through early intervention, education, and systemic change.
Our Vision
We envision a world where all women live free from violence and fear, where healthy relationships are the norm, and where communities actively work together to prevent domestic violence before it occurs.
Our Values
Empowerment
We believe in empowering women with knowledge, resources, and support to make informed decisions about their lives and relationships.
Respect
We treat all individuals with dignity and respect, honoring their experiences and supporting their journey to healing.
Inclusivity
We serve women from all backgrounds, cultures, and circumstances, ensuring our services are accessible to everyone who needs them.
Prevention
We focus on prevention through education and awareness, working to address the root causes of domestic violence.
Collaboration
We work closely with community partners, law enforcement, and other organizations to create comprehensive support networks.
Confidentiality
We maintain strict confidentiality and prioritise the safety and privacy of all women who seek our services.
Our Story
Founded in 2015, the Women's Advocacy Foundation Australia began as a grassroots organization when a group of survivors, advocates, and community members came together with a shared vision of creating lasting change in how we address domestic violence across Australia.
What started as informal support groups has grown into a comprehensive organization that serves thousands of Australian women annually through our prevention programs, educational initiatives, and direct support services. We operate in accordance with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC) governance standards.
Today, we are proud to be a leading voice in the Australian movement to prevent domestic violence through education and early intervention, while continuing to provide crucial support services to survivors and their families across all states and territories.
